Night Prayer - Oración Nocturna - 84

Night Prayer Now I lay me down to stay awake. Pray the Lord my soul to take into your wakefulness, so that I can get this one bit of wisdom clear. Grace comes to forgive and then forgive again.

Oración Nocturna Ahora me acuesto para estar despierto. Rezo a Dios que lleve a mi alma a su vigilia para que yo pueda aclarar este pedacito de sabiduría. La Gracia viene a perdonar y volver a perdonar.

Commentary: Either Rumi was having a bad day when he wrote this poem or I am having a bad day today reading it. There is a gold speck in the poem that I can utilize. Nighttime, like daytime, can be used for soul awakening. With lucid dreaming my soul can do it’s soul work of integrating and bring the light of love into the dream realm. As a lucid dreamer I realize the all of the dream characters are un-integrated parts of my own being. I can then lovingly confront the dream characters with the gospel of oneness. The characters resist the realization but eventually transform. This can be especially interesting with a nightmare. Facing, without fear, a villain that is attacking me in my dream, with the understanding that the character needs my fearless loving attention, is exhilarating. It feels like something deep inside is healed as the villain transforms. The same process can be used to integrate the daytime dream characters of ego that try to possess our identity. If my heart is not filled with awe and joy then I am lost in believing some story with my identity bewitched by a dream character.

Comentario: O Rumi tuvo un mal día cuando escribió este poema o yo estoy teniendo un mal día al leerlo. Pero hay una pizca de oro en este poema que puedo utilizar. La noche, como el día, puede usarse para el  despertar del espíritu. En los sueños lúcidos mi espíritu puede hacer su trabajo que consiste en integrar y llevar la luz del amor al reino de los sueños. Cuando tengo sueños lúcidos me doy cuenta que todos los personajes del sueño son partes no integradas de mi ser. Entonces puedo confrontar  amorosamente a esos personajes con el evangelio de la unidad. Los personajes se resisten a esta verdad pero eventualmente se transforman. Esto es especialmente interesante con una pesadilla. Enfrentar sin miedo al villano que me ataca en el sueño, entendiendo que necesita mi valentía y mi amor incondicional, es excitante. Siento que algo profundamente interno se sana en la medida en que el villano se transforma. El mismo proceso puede usarse durante el día para integrar  a los personajes soñadas por el ego que intentan poseer nuestra identidad. Si mi corazón no está rebosando con asombro y alegría entonces estoy atrapado por alguna de las historias de mi identidad cuando ha sido embrujada por algún personaje del sueño.
