The Great Untying
We search this world for the great untying
of what was wed to us at birth
and gets undone at dying.
We sleep beside a stream, thirsty.
Cursed and unlucky his whole life,
an old man finishes up in a niche
of a ruin, inches from the treasure.

Buscamos en este mundo el magnífico desamarre
de lo que nos unió al nacer y será disuelto al morir.
Dormimos al lado del arroyo, sedientos.
Maldecido y sin suerte durante toda su vida un hombre anciano acaba sus días en un nicho en ruinas, a unos cuantos centímetros del tesoro.

Commentary: I replace treasure with the state of ego transcendence – feeling one with all and being love. This is psychologist Abraham Maslow’s highest stage of human development. Maslow estimated that only two percent of people reach the next to highest stage of self realization. The percentage of people that don’t die next to the unrealized treasure must be quite low. Comentario: Si reemplazo la palabra tesoro con la idea de trascender el ego - sentir la unión con todo y ser amor. Este es el estado más elevado del desarrollo del ser humano según el psicólogo Abraham Maslow, quien estimó que tan solo el 2% de la población alcanzan el estado de autorrealización.
