An Edge of Foam A dervish lover was told to turn toward his own face, and he did, saying, Lord, lord, for years with no answer, no message back, yet he was always there turning in silence, with no music supporting him, no tambourine rhythm. A pigeon knows which roof to haunt. Even if you drive it off, it will circle and stay near. This is the critical moment when a swell of ocean turns its edge to foam. Every dervish has two mouths, a crafted reed opening and the lips of the flute player. Lord, don't speak from there.

Un filo de espuma Le dijeron a un derviche amoroso que girara hacia su propia cara, y durante años así lo hizo repitiendo Señor, Señor,  aunque  nunca recibió una respuesta, ningún mensaje, el siempre estaba ahí girando en silencio, sin ninguna musica acompañandolo, ni el ritmo de un tamborín. Una paloma sabe en que techo buscar guarida. Aun cuando la espantes ella volará en círculos y se mantendrá cerca. Este es el momento crítico cuando un crescendo del océano transforma su filo en espuma. Todo derviche tiene dos bocas, la apertura elaborada de un carrizo, y los labios del que toca la flauta. Señor no hables por ahí.

Commentary:  What do you circle? Circle things in time and space and you suffer. Perhaps, just perhaps, the suffering coupled with a moment of grace from the past  will start you circling anew, but nothing in space and time. Keep this circling, and if you forget, suffering will remind you that you have lost the scent of the Tao. You can then backtrack to the trail.

Comentario:  ¿Alrededor de que giras? Si giras alrededor de cosas o situaciones en el tiempo y el espacio entonces sufres. A lo mejor el sufrimiento y un momento de gracia del pasado te empujan a volver a girar pero ya no alrededor de cosas en el tiempo y el espacio. Manténte girando y si te olvidas de hacerlo, el sufrimiento te recordará que has perdido el rastro - el aroma del Tao. Así podrás regresar al trayecto.
