Unfold Your Own Myth
Who gets up early to discover the moment light begins?
Who finds us here circling, bewildered, like atoms?
Who, like Jacob blind with grief and age,
smells the shirt of his lost son
and can see again?
Who lets a bucket down and brings up
a flowing prophet? Or like Moses goes for fire and finds what burns inside the sunrise?
Jesus slips into a house to escape enemies,
and opens a door to the other world.
Solomon cuts open a fish, and there's a gold ring. Omar storms in to kill the prophet
and leaves with blessings.
But don't be satisfied with stories, how things have gone with others. Unfold
your own myth, so everyone will understand the passage,
We have opened you.
Start walking toward Shams. Your legs will get heavy and tired. Then comes a moment of feeling the wings you've grown, lifting. |
Revela tu propio mito.
¿Quién se levanta de madrugada para descubrir el momento en que inicia la luz?
¿Quién nos encuentra aquí girando y desconcertados como átomos?
¿Quién, como Jacob ciego por la tristeza y la edad, huele la camisa de su hijo perdido y vuelve a ver?
¿Quién baja una cubeta al pozo y saca a un radiante profeta? O Moisés que salió a buscar fuego y encontró el ardor del amanecer.
Jesús se mete a una casa para escapar de sus enemigos y abre una puerta a otro mundo.
Salomón corta un pescado y encuentra un anillo de oro. Omar entra furioso para matar al profeta y se va colmado de bendiciones.
No te sientas satisfecho con las historias de cómo les ha ido a otros. Poco a poco revela tu propio mito para que todos comprendan el pasaje Te hemos despertado.
Empieza a caminar hacia Shams. Tus piernas se sentirán pesadas y cansadas. Hasta que llega el momento en que sientes las alas, que te han crecido, elevarse. |

ReplyDeleteWe can spend our entire lives looking outside of ourselves for meaning in one place after another; this person, that person, this idea, this political candidate, or that religion. This defines a life unrealized. Jesus spoke of this when he said, “Let the dead bury the dead.” In a moment of grace we may catch the scent of an inner majesty and presence. This can trigger a journey to self-realization and self-transcendence; the discovery of an inner beauty that is everywhere.

ReplyDeletePodemos pasar nuestra vida buscando el sentido de la vida en un lugar y en otro, en tal persona, tal idea, tal politico, o tal religion. Esta es una vida no-realizada. Jesus se refirio a esto cuando dijo "Deja que los muertos entierren a los muertos". En un momento de gracia percibimos la presencia y majestuosidad interior. Asi se inicia un camino de auto-realizacion y trascendencia. El descubrimiento de una belleza interna que esta en todo.
