The One Thing You Must Do There is one thing in this world which you must never forget to do. If you forget everything else and not this, there is nothing to worry about, but if you remember everything else and forget this, then you will have done nothing in your life. It is as if a King has sent you to a country to do a task, and you perform a hundred other services, but not the one he sent you to do. So human beings come to this world to do particular work. That work is the purpose, and each is specific to the person. If you don’t do it, it’s as though a knife of the finest tempering were nailed into a wall to hang things on. For a penny an iron nail could be bought to serve for that. Remember the deep root of your being, the presence of your lord. Give your life to the one who already owns your breath and your moments. If you don’t, you will be like the one who takes a precious dagger and hammers it into his kitchen wall for a peg to hold his dipper gourd. You will be wasting valuable keenness and foolishly ignoring your dignity and purpose.

La única cosa que debes hacer Hay una cosa en este mundo que nunca debes olvidar hacer. Si te olvidas de todo lo demás y no te olvidas de esto no tienes de qué preocuparte, pero si te acuerdas de todo lo demás y te olvidas de  esto entonces no habrás hecho nada en tu vida. Es como si un rey te enviara a otro país a realizar una tarea, y tu haces cientos de otros servicios  pero no lo que fuiste enviada a hacer. De igual forma los seres humanos venimos a este mundo a realizar un trabajo particular. Este trabajo es el propósito y es específico para la persona. Si no lo haces es como si clavaras un cuchillo de las más fina templanza en la pared para colgar cosas. Por unos centavos puedes comprar un clavo de fierro para ese fin. Recuerda la raíz profunda de tu ser, la presencia de tu Señor. Ofrece tu vida a quien ya es dueña de tu aliento y tus momentos. Si no lo haces serás como aquel que clava su preciosa daga en la pared de la cocina para colgar el cucharón de guaje. Estarás desperdiciando tu valioso entusiasmo y tontamente ignorando tu dignidad y tu propósito.

2017 Commentary: "The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone" Psalm 118:22. What else can we build our lives around than the deep presence within? We drift through life without ultimate meaning if we lack this connection.

Comentario: “La piedra que rechazaron los constructores se convirtió en la piedra angular” Salmo 118:22. ¿En qué otra cosa podemos construir nuestras vidas sino en la presencia interior? Andamos a la deriva sin encontrarle sentido a la vida cuando no tenemos esa conexión.
