Your First Eyes A lover has four streams inside, of water, wine, honey, and milk. Find those in yourself and pay no attention to what so-and-so says about such-and-such. The rose does not care if someone calls it a thorn, or a jasmine. Ordinary eyes categorize human beings. That one is a Zoroastrian. This one a Muslim. Walk instead with the other vision given you, your first eyes. Bow to the essence in a human being. Do not be content with judging people good and bad. Grow out of that. The great blessing is that Shams has poured a strength into the ground that lets us wait and trust the waiting.

Tus Primeros ojos Un amante tiene cuatro corrientes por dentro, de agua, vino, miel y leche. Encuentralas en ti y no pongas atención a lo que fulanito dice sobre esto y aquello. A la rosa no le importa si alguien la llama espina o jazmín. Los ojos ordinarios clasifican a los seres humanos. Ese es protestante. Ese otro musulmán. En vez de ello camina con la otra visión que te fue dada, tus primeros ojos. Inclínate ante la esencia de un ser humano. No te conformes con juzgar buenas o malas a las personas. Que se te pase el hacer eso. La gran bendición es que Shams ha vertido una fuerza en la tierra que nos permite esperar y confiar en la espera.
