Lovers cannot sleep
when they feel the privacy
of the beloved all around them.
Someone who is thirsty
may sleep for a little while,
but he or she will dream of water,
a full jar beside a creek,
or the spirit-water you get
from another person.
All night, listen to the conversation.
Stay up. This moment is all there is.

La Vigilia
Los amantes no pueden dormir cuando sienten la intimidad del amado a su alrededor.
Alguien que tiene sed puede dormir durante un rato,
pero él o ella soñarán con agua, con una jarra llena junto a un arroyo, o con l agua-espíritu que recibes de otra persona.
Toda la noche escucha la conversación. Quédate despierto. Este momento es lo único que hay.

Commentary: An invitation to enter the present-moment door of loving. Step out of the prison of thoughts into the garden of presence. Be still and feel the beloved all around.
Comentario: Una invitación a entrar por la puerta del amor al momento-presente. Sal de la prisión de los pensamientos y visita el jardín de la presencia. Quédate quieto y siente al bienamado.
